Rebellion of the Lioness
After the rise of the commoner turned Emperor Bradwick, his mainland bride gave him a child shortly before his rise to power. The son seemed to show unprecedented power toward magic, quickly rising to many of the laws banning magic in the City of Greyport to fall. Bradwick II was a quiet slow to react man, despite or because of his power he was rarely seen acting impulsively and took perhaps too much time to accomplish things. When King Bradwick fell to old age, Bradwick II took over the throne, unfortunately his skill at magic did little to help his skills as a ruler and the country began to fall into turmoil. As he aged the many problems of the country built and multiplied, food shortages, civil fighting, bandits in the wilderness and gangs in the cities. Bradwick II’s 6 children took it upon themselves to seize control from their father who refused to give it up. With the backing of the mages guild that since the legalization of magic had grown rapidly in power, the children staged a coup taking the throne from their father and casting out the current ruling caste for a council of mages to solve the cities problems. The rule of the Mages Council did little to help the common folk however, now under the tyranny of magic they turned to a woman who’s claims as one of Bradwicks other children led her to be a symbol of a revolution. The lioness gathered the Chimera that would join her, the common folks, and even the dejected nobles who wanted their positions of power returned to them. Though during the stages of the rebellion they had killed Gorbain “Stitches” and Malack “The dead one”, the “Trumble Event” Caused the city and the mages council to fall immediately slaughtering every non apprentice mage all at once. The Lioness rose to power as she rebuilt and defended New Greyport, her tactical knowledge and alliances saving a nation that seemed on the edge of destruction.
